Hello from Mrs. Franzmann!

I am very excited to join the Quinson community this year! This will be my 6th year teaching and my 4th full year of music. I have truly found my 'home' within the musical arts and I can't wait to share my passion for song and dance, rhythm and beat, and expression and exploration with you.

I am always open to talking about your child's music education. I am generally available for appointments between 3:00-5:00pm on weekdays.  I'm happy to chat over the phone or via email.

Musically yours,

Mariah Franzmann, B.A., B.Ed., M.A.

Musicianship

Just like sportsmanship is the building of positive athletic skills and attitudes, musicianship is the fostering of positive music skills and attitudes. To learn more about the sequence of music skills, click on the "I Can..." tab to look at my curriculum. There is also a social/emotional component to musicianship that is crucial for students' success. Perseverance, diligence, and courage are my top three traits of a good musician. Perseverance because much of the music process involves trying, "failing", and trying again. Diligence because without good practice habits, it is hard to progress. Finally, courage because learning music involves stepping into a world unknown and sometimes sharing that world with others. Performing/sharing is not always easy - but it is highly rewarding.
